The Fibonacci Shelf, designed by Peng Wang of Utopia Architecture & Design, is a modular shelving unit inspired by the Fibonacci sequence—a series where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones. This sequence is closely related to the Golden Ratio, approximately 1.618, renowned for its aesthetically pleasing proportions.

The shelf comprises seven components: six open metal frames with dimensions corresponding to Fibonacci numbers (55 cm, 34 cm, 21 cm, 13 cm, 8 cm, and 5 cm) and a base that can function as a side table. These units can be arranged in various configurations, allowing users to customize the shelf's form to suit different spaces and needs.

Crafted from thin sheet metal, the Fibonacci Shelf presents a minimalist aesthetic, appearing almost like a line drawing when viewed head-on. Its modular nature not only offers versatility but also serves as a physical representation of mathematical beauty, embodying the principles of the Fibonacci sequence and the Golden Ratio in its design.
